Life at home

I have been trying to capture Quentin's new smile on camera and finally got it. Avery and Cole also got some new jammies sewn by Gramma Jo. The kids love them. There won't be any more posts for a bit since we haven't taken any new pictures. Bryan was in San Diego last week for an AP conference, and I was home with sick kids. Quentin kicked it off, quickly followed by Cole and myself, and now Avery's got it. What a special treat for Bryan to come back to.

Tutus and fluff

Avery and two friends, Rebecca and Rachel, took a dance class at People's Church. They had so much fun all week, and had a recital on the last day. They borrowed real tutus for the final performance.

Friends and Fairies

The first picture is Avery and her "loot" from the tooth fairy. She got a dollar bill to spend and a silver dollar to save. The next pictures are the kids making string art with our friends, Jaden, Titus, and Noah. I watched them while their mom was having a baby girl (morrisfamilyupdates).

Avery and "the gap"

With a little help from Daddy and a sturdy pair of pliers, tonight Avery lost her first tooth. She didn't even realize it was out, and when she did her comment was, "Where did it go?" It is now under her pillow awaiting a visit from the much anticipated tooth fairy. She's hoping to get $100 or possibly $1000 (at least enough to buy us a house, she says). I'm not sure her tooth fairy can do that, but we'll see. I hope the next tooth losses are easier for me, I cried.

More of Quentin

For Q's birthday celebration we went t swim with some friends, Hannah, Micha, and Isaac. Instead of a cake (it was too hard to make, Quentin ate a Klondike bar. He loved it.

About Quentin

I'd love to post about July 4th... the fireworks, watermelon, swimming, but today I'm focusing on July 6th. What happened last July 6? After being quite bummed that our new baby didn't come on the 4th, then the 5th (Grandma's birthday), I went to the doctor. They checked the fluid levels which had become a routine thing and decided they'd induce the 7th. So I went home and got ready and excited and just waited. Bryan and I decided to watch a movie and at about 11:45pm I had a contraction. Then another at 11:52. 7 minutes apart, and a bit uncomfortable, so I decided to call the doctor in the morning. Little did I know then they'd speed up. The following were 2 minutes apart. I'm sure angels were with us as we made it to the car and hospital (only one other car on the road, so Bryan did some convenient maneuvering). Luckily there was no baby born on the sidewalk that night (although I spent a bit of time laying there), and at 2:17pm we had Quentin. What a beautiful little man despite his bruises from birth.
What a fun little guy he is. He loves chasing Avery and Cole around. His favorite food is watermelon and he just recently moved into his non-infant carseat. He loves when Daddy throws him into the air and smiles when he sees faces he knows. Q likes to sleep in my arms, during dinner in his chair, or in the pool in his floaty ring. He had his first sip of milk a few minutes ago and seems to like it. We'll see. What an amazing gift God has given us. We can't wait to see what Quentin's future adventures will be.
