Discovery Center

Today we went to the Discovery Center. We'd never been, and a friend, Nicki, invited us. She has 3 beautiful kids (and is pregnant with #4). There was a special event going on about rockets and flight. The kids made "rockets" out of film canisters, alka-seltzer tablets, and water. There was a huge pond for catching frogs, crawfish, tadpoles, fish, and we even saw a turtle. We sat in the shade and ate lunch just in time to see the main event. A helicopter flew in and landed on the grass. The kids lined up to sit in it while parents flashed pictures and the pilot gave them lollipops. Oh, we didn't get any of the kids in the helicopter. Kidding! I just couldn't fit them into one post. There were also bubble stations. I think the grown-ups had more fun with those- and yes Bryan told us all about the math behind them. When it got too hot and we were tired, we left.

Grandpa Fuller

Depending on who reads this, it may come as news, but may not. Bryan is in Tennessee right now. He left on Monday morning early hoping to see his grandpa before he passed away. He made it in time, and from what I've heard, they were able to spend some special time together. Grandpa Fuller died this morning. Please pray for Bryan's family right now. Please pray for Grammy Honey. She and Grandpa were married for 61 years. On the flip side of the sadness, what an amazing feeling knowing that Grandpa is in a perfect place with our perfect God. I can't wait to see him again someday.

Hair today, gone tomorrow

Today Avery donated her hair to Locks of Love. Central West hosted a "hair drive". Avery was excited to help kids her age. She decided early this year to try and grow it, and if it was long enough, she'd cut it. The mom of one of her school friends was going through chemotherapy early in the school year. She was Avery's inspiration. I am so proud of the amazing little girl she is.
